Otterology Exhibit Design
Gotta Love Otters! For this project I designed an exhibition that describes a scientific process. The exhibition emphasized identity and environmental design. The final piece was to create a catalog or motion for the exhibition. I choose to do my project on the sea otter as a keystone species. A keystone species is a plant or animal that plays a unique and crucial role in the way an ecosystem functions. The sea otter is example of a keystone species in the Pacific Northwest. These mammals feed on sea urchins, controlling their population. If the otters didn't eat the urchins, the urchins would eat up the habitat's kelp. Without sea otters to control the urchin population, the entire ecosystem would collapse and will effect humans as well. Watercolor was used in my illustrations and backgrounds. This project allowed me to show my interest in animals, environmental design and motion.
